Voltra I Mode Guide · Part 7 of 9

Conditioning: Rowing and Ski

I use these two modes almost exclusively for conditioning.

I'm a Beyond Power affiliate. If you buy a Voltra with my link or code TISSUEGUY, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Everything in this guide comes from my own training and programming with the unit.

A setup note on Rowing: to use Rowing mode the way it's meant to be used, you need a seat that lets your hips slide back and forth, and a footplate that anchors your feet so you can push and pull yourself through the stroke. Beyond Power doesn't make that piece. Otherwise it's very hard to build a stable sliding surface that actually feels like a rower. The best option I've found is Body-Solid's GROW Rower Attachment: a sliding seat and footplate without a rowing mechanism, designed for low-pulley stations.
